On December 1st, Microsoft ended support for their legacy voicemail solution, forcing users to utilize a different solution for voicemails. We transitioned all users to the new system on November 25th. Please see the information below to see how it affects you.
Most voicemail greetings were automatically migrated to the new system; however, we suggest that you call your number and check to ensure the greeting is correct and up to date. Instructions for updating your greeting can be found here:

As a reminder, the following features are unavailable until we move off our Cisco phones:
  • Message Waiting Indicator light on the phone that indicates a new voicemail.
  • Ability to check voicemail from the Cisco phone (x6000) – all notifications will be accessible through email or the Microsoft Teams client.
  • Setting your Voicemail greeting from your office phone.
While we recognize that these features may be a source of inconvenience, our current solution saves the University over 30k per year in costs, allowing the funds to be utilized for more critical needs. In addition, these features will be available in the near future.
We also now have access to the following new features:
  • Functionality to initiate phone calls from the Microsoft Teams client using your extension
  • Ability to coincide voicemail with Outlook Out of Office notifications.
If you notice any issues with your voicemail, please let us know immediately.
